Play Some Tennis by Deuce (6/20)
📬 Deuce – Week of June 20th
Happy Friday, everyone!
I’m not someone who likes to talk about the weather, but if you’re living in NYC then you know that this week has been a rollercoaster. I’ve barely been able to get out on the courts this week, but if there’s a will, there is a way, which is why I’m scheduling a match for 11 pm tonight. Yes, you read that right. I’ll most likely be playing tennis till 1 am tonight. I’m crazy.
Alright, LET’S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS!!! (Cue Mulan Music)
🏴 Wimbledon is here?
Qualifying rounds of Wimbledon start this next week, which feels so strange given the fact that I’m still not over the Roland Garros final. That final was so good, they should have taken a few months off to help us, the fans, recover.
👀 As we approach the greatest tournament in Tennis. There are two things to keep an eye out for.
The Hill in NYC is back! They’ll be screening the men’s and women’s finals (July 11th - 13th) in Dumbo which will be one of the best way’s to catch all of the action. You can get all of the details here.
Wimbledon Screenings @ Park House (McCarren Park). If you play at the greatest tennis courts in all of NYC, aka McCarren Park, then stop into Park House to catch screenings of Wimbledon. July 4th, 6th, 11th, 12th and 13th. We did this for the Women’s RG Final, and it was perfect to catch the match with friends and a nice cold margarita.
I’ll share more details as we approach those dates, so stay tuned on Instagram and here for more details. Side note, I’m hoping we can convince the Park House to serve some Pimm’s 🙂

🎉 Spotlight: Court 16

🎉 The Road to 3.0 Starts Here
One of the biggest pieces of feedback I’ve heard is from people who want to get into tennis or get back into it, is that they can’t find good beginner classes that will help them learn the game.
And given the fact that it's so hard to even get a court in NYC, it nearly becomes impossible to try and pick up tennis as a hobby.
One of my biggest goals has been helping clear a path for players who are starting at a 1.0 level and want to reach 3.0, where you can comfortably rally, play points, and compete in league matches with friends.
🎾 Enter Court 16.
Court 16 is the best place in NYC to go from beginner to intermediate player. They offer a structured progression with classes like: Intro to Tennis, Beginner, and Advanced Beginner. Each class is designed to build your skills and move you toward that 3.0 level. As you improve, your coach will track your progress and promote you to the next level when you’re ready.
Best part? You’ll be learning alongside people at your same level, which means more new tennis friends to hit with around the city. This is the golden ticket if you're trying to break into tennis!

🎾 Calling All College Tennis Alumni!
Miss those college match days? Here’s your chance to run it back — USTA Eastern is hosting an Alumni Doubles Tournament on July 20th at Randall’s Island, and it’s open to all recent college grads.
Grab a teammate (from your school or mix it up), hit the courts, and compete for US Open tickets — plus free food and drinks.

🏆️ Fort Greene Dingles Tournament SOLD OUT
THIS WEEKEND, Fort Greene is hosting its annual Dingles Tournament. The sad part is that it’s completely sold out, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get out there and watch. It’s a great time hanging out at the park and watching some tennis. Plus, who knows if someone gets injured and needs a sub. You know what they say, the best ability is availability. (Okay, I’m done…)
